Go For Hope is a songwriting duo consisting of lyricist Scott Glenen and music composer Bryne Carruthers based in Brockville, Ontario. Their newly released debut album This Can Be features many accomplished musicians including Grammy winning recording engineer Dave Darlington of NYC (credits include Sting, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Avicii, David Guetta) and Juno winning recording engineer Philip Shaw Bova of Ottawa, Ontario (credits include Juno winning albums by Feist and Bahamas, and CBC radio’s new As It Happens theme).
Other featured veteran performers include Tobias Smith and Eric Espiritu of the Los Angeles California band Atomic Tom (as seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Lopez Tonight) and Cardinal Ontario’s blues rock trio River City Junction (Jason Fryer, Caroline Addison and Tom Joanisse). The album is also the recording debut for several talented vocalists including Amanda Keeley (Brockville), Sappho Hansen Smythe (Toronto) and Ariel Fiess (Toronto). Go For Hope’s songs are various iterations of the pop idiom and range lyrically from existential themes (Waste Away), social justice (Fire), and redemption (I Promise You). Go For Hope has set its sights on achieving national radio airplay in Canada with the album. The songs will be performed by singers involved in the project in the coming months on university and college campuses and other venues throughout Ontario.
